The Future Prize for Renewable Energy is heading into the finals!
THREE PROJECTS. THREE NOMINATIONS. ONE LIMES 2026.
Following our second “Pitch Your Idea” jury session, the list is now set: From a strong field of finalists, our expert jury has selected the three nominees for the LIMES – the 2026 Future Prize for Renewable Energy (in alphabetical order):
🔵 CLEARSPEC (Redeem Technologies): Transparent PEC reactors for integrating solar hydrogen production into existing PV infrastructure
🔵CO2 Workshop – From Prototype to Pilot Plant
🔵FlexDrill GmbH – Compact drilling system for affordable geothermal energy in residential construction
Three strong ideas—but who will ultimately win the LIMES 2026?
Even our nominees won’t find out until the awards ceremony on September 30, 2026. That’s when it will be publicly announced for the first time which project will receive the LIMES Future Prize, worth €25,000. The other two nominated projects will each receive €5,000 in prize money.
TEB ACADEMY × LIMES
On September 30, we'll bring two networks together for a day full of renewable energy!
This year, the LIMES Award Ceremony will take place in a very special setting: Together with The Energy Bridge, we invite our entire Energiepark Research Foundation community to the Kuppelsaal at TU Wien.
The TEB Academy 2026, focusing on “Buildings & Energy Efficiency,” begins at 10:00 a.m. The forum brings together academia, business, politics, innovation, and financing, and is dedicated to concrete solutions at the intersection of buildings and the energy transition.
Instead of holding two separate events on the same day, we therefore decided to leverage synergies and combine both formats:
–
Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Dome Hall | Vienna University of Technology, Karlsplatz 13
10:00 a.m.
TEB Academy Conference – Buildings & Energy Efficiency
4:00 p.m.
2026 LIMES Award Ceremony – Closing Session
–
Anyone who would like to attend the entire day is just as welcome as those who will be joining us at 4:00 p.m. for the LIMES Awards Ceremony.

Our LIMES 2025 award-winning team: Silosophie with “SiloToHeat” (from left to right: Maximilian Wittmann, Armin Knöbl, Lucas Silhanek)
Also joining us are SiloSophie, our2025 LIMES Award winners: They’ll provide a brief overview of what has happened since their victory and present the LIMES trophy to this year’s winners.
Afterward, we'll wrap up the day together with some networking and conversation.
Our community is invited!
The Energiepark Research Foundation thrives on people who contribute new ideas, share knowledge, drive projects forward, and work together toward the future of renewable energy. That’s why we’d like to celebrate this special day together with our community.

–
You're also welcome to bring colleagues, project partners, or anyone else who might be interested, and to share the invitation with your network.
We look forward to seeing as many familiar and new faces from our community as possible in Vienna on September 30, to exchange ideas, forge new connections, and spend an inspiring day filled with renewable energy and innovation!
A big THANK YOU to all LIMES 2026 participants!
The three nominees have been selected—but the LIMES 2026 would not be the same without the many ideas we received this year.

And for those who haven’t submitted their ideas yet this year: LIMES will be back for its next round in 2027! Starting this spring, we’ll once again be looking for bold ideas for the future of renewable energy—we look forward to your submissions!
